What is the purpose of the Cake Contract form?
The Cake Contract form serves to outline the terms and conditions related to the cake order for your event. It ensures that both you and The Bread Basket Bakery have a clear understanding of the expectations, including payment schedules, delivery, setup, and cancellation policies. By signing this contract, you reserve your date and confirm your order details.
What are the payment terms outlined in the contract?
The contract specifies a $75.00 booking deposit required to reserve your date. This deposit is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. Additionally, a 50% down payment is due two months prior to your event. If the contract is signed within two months of the event, the 50% down payment is due upon signing. The final payment, which covers the total contract price, is due two weeks before the event. If the final payment is not received, the cake will not be made.
Can I make changes to my cake order after signing the contract?
You are welcome to make changes to your cake’s size, description, flavors, and other details until two weeks prior to your event. After this lockout date, no changes can be accepted. Please note that any changes made may also affect the final price of the cake.
What is the policy regarding the cake set or stand?
The $75.00 deposit also serves as your deposit for the cake set or stand. All pieces must be returned by the Wednesday following your event. If any pieces are late or damaged, you may forfeit your deposit or be responsible for the full replacement cost. If the value of the cake set/stand is less than $75, you may choose not to return it and forfeit your deposit instead.
What are the delivery and setup fees?
Delivery and setup within Saratoga Springs (up to 5 miles from the bakery) incurs a fee of $30. For distances beyond this radius, there is an additional charge of $1.25 per mile. Cakes for events with fewer than 100 guests must be picked up, especially during peak times. Delivery and setup can be arranged outside of normal business hours, but this will incur an additional charge. Payment for delivery is required at least 14 days prior to the delivery date.
What happens if I need to cancel my order?
If you need to cancel your order, cakes canceled before the 14-day lockout date will be refunded, though the $75.00 deposit will not be refunded. Cancellations made after the 14-day lockout date will not receive a refund for either the cake or the deposit. If circumstances arise that affect your scheduled event, it is important to contact the bakery to discuss possible options.
Can I use my own flowers or decorations on the cake?
You may certainly provide fresh flowers or decorations for your cake. If you have a specific design in mind, it is helpful to provide a sketch of the layout. Your florist should supply the flowers; however, if you request the bakery to purchase them, their cost will be included in your contract price. Communication with your florist is encouraged to ensure that everything matches your vision.
What should I consider when picking up my cake?
When picking up your cake, it is essential to have a clean, flat surface in your vehicle to ensure its safety during transport. Vehicles like vans or SUVs are recommended. Most cakes are not boxed, so extra care is needed to protect them. Once you leave the bakery with the cake, The Bread Basket Bakery is no longer responsible for any damage that may occur during transport.
