1. At this time, Beckett Grading Services accepts and grades most licensed cards up to 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Additional fees will apply to items larger then 3x5. Please note that cards showing evidence of counterfeiting,
tampering, or restoration will be charged the full amount according to the service option selected. By not checking either of the “Authentic” boxes on the front of the submission form, your cards will be given a numeric grade if
the cards are deemed to be gradable by BGS standards. Usual grading fees apply. Please refer to www.beckett.com/grading for updated information.
2. All submissions must be addressed to Beckett Grading Services. Improperly addressed shipments are not subject to turnaround time selected. Cards should be sent in oversized (3.25" X 5") semi-rigid holders (such as a Card
Saver I). “Penny sleeves” should also be used in conjunction with the oversized semi-rigid holders. BGS will not be responsible for any damages incurred by the use of other holders.
3. All card submissions must be accompanied by a Beckett-issued submission form. All other forms, including handwritten copies, are null and void.
4. Please PRINT your name and account number (if you have one) in the upper right corner of the form. If you do not have an account number, one will be assigned to you.

8. Select 'Grading Service' level. Check one level only. (See top of rules section for more details). Please separate cards based on submission levels and requirements.
9. To determine amount owed, use the 'Calculating $ to be paid to BGS' area. Total the number of cards submitted and multiply by the price per card for the grading service you select. Figure return postage and insurance using
appropriate tables. Add 8.25% Sales Tax to the cost of service and shipping if you are a Texas resident only, unless the cards are for re-sale and you provide us with a valid re-sale tax ID number.
examined or processed until payment is made in full. Don't forget the expiration date, security code, and signature. All payments must be in U.S. funds. Returned checks will be assessed a $30.00 fee.
11. Be sure to include return insurance and ship to address on top of submission form. Send to the attention of 'Beckett Grading Services. Beckett will not be responsible for damages on packages sent for grading so insurance
and tracking is recommended. Owner's declared value is used for determining insurance cost of the return shipment and the maximum amount that can be claimed for damage or loss in shipment for any card or cards. If a
claim is necessary at any point, the value of each card will be based upon the actual market value not to exceed the insured value the customer assigned to the card.

More About Beckett Grading

What is the Beckett Grading form used for?

The Beckett Grading form is a document that collectors use to submit their trading cards for grading and authentication. It provides essential information about the cards, including their condition and value. This form ensures that the grading process is organized and that all necessary details are captured for accurate evaluation.

How do I fill out the Beckett Grading form?

To fill out the Beckett Grading form, start by providing your personal information, including your name, address, and contact details. Next, list each card you are submitting, including the quantity, year, set name, card number, player name, and declared value. Be sure to select your desired grading service level and calculate the total fees based on the number of cards and services selected. Finally, sign the form to indicate your agreement with the terms and conditions.

What types of cards can be submitted for grading?

Beckett Grading Services accepts most licensed cards that measure up to 8.5 inches by 11 inches. This includes a wide range of sports cards, trading cards, and collectible cards. However, additional fees may apply for oversized items larger than 3x5 inches. It's essential to check the specific requirements for the type of cards you wish to submit.

What happens if my cards are deemed altered?

If your cards are checked and found to be altered, Beckett will seal and authenticate them in a standard Beckett Authentic/Altered case. This means that while they will not receive a numeric grade, they will still be recognized as authentic. You can choose this option by checking the appropriate box on the submission form.

How are grading fees calculated?

Grading fees are calculated based on the number of cards submitted and the specific grading service level selected. The form includes a section for calculating the total amount owed, which involves multiplying the number of cards by the fee per card. Additional costs for return shipping, insurance, and applicable taxes must also be factored in to arrive at the final total.

Can I submit cards without payment?

No, cards will not be graded unless full payment is received along with the submission. This policy ensures that all submissions are processed efficiently and that there are no delays in the grading process. Be sure to include payment in U.S. funds with your submission.

What should I do if I have more cards than can fit on the form?

If you have more cards than can be listed on the Beckett Grading form, you can use a second sheet to provide additional information. However, it is important to use only one service level per submission form to avoid confusion in processing your order.

How does return shipping work?

Return shipping is determined based on the shipping method you select on the form. Options include FedEx Ground, Priority Overnight, and others. You will need to specify your preferred shipping method and include the appropriate payment for return postage. Insurance is also recommended to protect your cards during transit.

What if I have questions about my submission?

If you have any questions regarding your submission or the grading process, you can visit the Beckett website or contact their customer service for assistance. They provide resources and support to help you navigate the grading process effectively.

Common mistakes

  1. Neglecting to print the name and account number: Failing to clearly print your name and account number in the designated area can lead to processing delays or miscommunication.

  2. Inaccurate card details: Providing incorrect information about the cards, such as the year, set name, or card number, can result in grading errors or rejected submissions.

  3. Omitting payment information: Not including payment for the grading services can halt the processing of your submission. Ensure that payment is included and correctly calculated.

  4. Ignoring the shipping method: Failing to specify your preferred shipping method in the 'SHIP VIA' box can lead to unexpected delays in receiving your cards.

  5. Not checking the appropriate grading boxes: Forgetting to check the correct boxes for grading options can result in receiving a different service than intended.

  6. Incorrectly calculating totals: Errors in calculating the total amount due can lead to underpayment or overpayment, complicating the processing of your order.

  7. Failing to use proper holders: Not using the recommended oversized semi-rigid holders can cause damage during shipping, leading to potential issues with grading.

  8. Overlooking return insurance: Not including return insurance can result in financial loss if cards are damaged or lost during return shipping.

  9. Ignoring state sales tax requirements: Texas residents must remember to add 8.25% sales tax to their total. Failure to do so may lead to processing delays.

Documents used along the form

The Beckett Grading form is a crucial document for collectors submitting cards for grading and authentication. Alongside this form, several other documents and forms are commonly used to facilitate the grading process and ensure proper handling of submissions. Below is a list of these additional forms and documents, each serving a specific purpose in the submission process.

  • Graded Card Review (GCR) Form: This form is used when collectors want Beckett Grading to review previously graded cards from various grading companies. It allows collectors to request a subgrade bump or a specified minimum grade for their cards. The GCR process includes a fee and specific instructions for submission.
  • Payment Authorization Form: This document is necessary for collectors who wish to pay for grading services via credit card. It includes fields for card details, billing information, and authorization for charges. Proper completion ensures timely processing of payments.
  • Shipping Label: A shipping label is often generated for returning graded cards to the collector. It provides the necessary information for shipping, including the destination address and tracking details. Accurate labeling is essential to avoid delays in delivery.
  • Return Insurance Form: This form is used to declare the value of cards being submitted for grading. Collectors can choose the level of insurance coverage for their cards during return shipping. It helps protect the investment in case of loss or damage during transit.

These additional forms and documents play an important role in the card grading process. They help streamline submissions, ensure proper payment handling, and protect the interests of both collectors and grading services. Collectors should be diligent in completing all required forms accurately to avoid any complications during the grading process.

Similar forms

The Beckett Grading form shares similarities with the PSA Submission Form, which is used for grading sports cards. Both forms require detailed information about the cards being submitted, including the player's name, card number, and declared value. Just like Beckett, PSA offers different service levels for grading and authentication. Customers must also provide payment details upfront. This ensures that the grading process can begin as soon as the cards are received, minimizing delays.

Another document that resembles the Beckett Grading form is the SGC Submission Form. SGC, or Sportscard Guaranty, also focuses on grading and authenticating sports cards. Their form includes sections for card details, submission type, and payment options. Both forms emphasize the importance of submitting cards in appropriate holders to prevent damage. This focus on careful handling reflects the shared goal of preserving the condition of valuable collectibles.

The CGC Signature Series Submission Form is another similar document. CGC, known for grading comic books, has a submission form that requires detailed information about the comic being submitted. Similar to Beckett, it allows for various grading levels and includes payment instructions. Both forms prioritize authentication and grading, ensuring that collectors receive accurate assessments of their items.

In addition, the BGS Submission Form for memorabilia is akin to the Beckett Grading form. This document is used for grading items like jerseys and helmets. It requires details about the item, similar to how the Beckett form collects information about cards. Both forms require payment at the time of submission, reinforcing the commitment to a streamlined grading process.

The NGC Submission Form, used for grading coins, also mirrors the Beckett Grading form. Like Beckett, NGC collects detailed information about each item, including its type and declared value. Both forms require payment in advance, ensuring that the grading process can start without delays. This similarity highlights the shared practices across different grading services in the collectibles industry.

Another comparable document is the PSA/DNA Submission Form for autographs. This form is used to authenticate signed memorabilia. It requires detailed information about the item and the signer, much like the Beckett form. Both emphasize the importance of proper handling and submission methods to maintain the integrity of the items being graded or authenticated.

Finally, the JSA Submission Form for autograph authentication is similar to the Beckett Grading form. JSA, or James Spence Authentication, requires detailed information about the signed items, including the type of item and the signature's context. Both forms prioritize the authentication process and require payment upfront, ensuring that collectors can trust the services provided.

  • Payment must accompany your submission. Be aware of the grading fees, and remember to include any additional charges for oversized items or return insurance. All payments should be made in U.S. funds.

  • Familiarize yourself with the grading options available. Depending on your selection, cards may receive a numeric grade or simply be authenticated. Understanding these options helps you choose the best service for your needs.
